Make-A-Day Programs
Pop-Up Outreach Events
Make-A-Day’s “pop-up” events are designed to empower unhoused and low-income individuals by offering affirming services and fostering genuine, meaningful connections. These events are not just about providing immediate relief, they are about creating opportunities for individuals to reconnect with their community, build trust, and take steps toward stability. We prioritize relationship-building, recognizing that these connections are essential for encouraging re-engagement with critical health, housing, and human services.
Through the collaboration of our Mobile Unit, Community Outreach Team, Mobile Cosmetology Team, dedicated volunteers, and partner agencies, we host these events six times a year at various locations. By meeting individuals where they are, both physically and emotionally, we ensure that they receive the care, resources, and support they deserve. This coordinated effort allows us to reach and uplift those in need, creating spaces of connection, dignity, and empowerment that foster a sense of belonging and provide individuals with the tools to move forward toward greater stability.
Mobile Outreach Programs
Make-A-Day’s mobile outreach program operates weekly, meeting individuals where they are, both physically and in their life circumstances. Whether at homeless encampments or local shelters, our Mobile Unit, equipped with a professional kitchen and accompanied by our dedicated Community Outreach Team, provides vital support. Our outreach bridges the critical gap between individuals experiencing homelessness and access to stable housing and economic opportunities. By building trust and credibility, we help connect individuals to housing, treatment resources, and the pathways they need to regain independence.
Through our program, we assist clients with obtaining necessary documentation, meeting eligibility requirements for housing and treatment programs, and attending appointments to help them move toward secure housing and care. We also provide guidance and support for individuals to access employment resources, skill development opportunities, and financial literacy programs, empowering them with the tools to regain self-sufficiency. By collaborating with partner agencies, we ensure that even the most vulnerable individuals, who are least able to access community resources on their own, are provided with the opportunities they need to achieve long-term stability and economic empowerment.
